Our mission is to enhance our community through active, committed and civic-minded participation.
We are Dedicated to Serving and Improving Our Community
We are interested, involved citizens focused on improving our community. We volunteer time, fundraise, support charitable organizations, award scholarships, and so much more.
Improving ourselves through networking, education, literacy, arts and culture, and by preserving the history of our community and our club are all hallmarks of who we are. Our focus is on educating ourselves and our community about health and public safety matters.
Are you looking for ways to meaningfully give back to your community? Do you want to meet like-minded people, develop strengths, and learn new skills?
The Woman's Club of Indio is very active and welcomes members to participate in volunteer opportunities that best suit each member. We are always networking in our community to see how and where we can make a positive impact and where our volunteers are needed. To learn about volunteer opportunties, click the link below.
Over 100 years ago, the Woman's Club of Indio was established by a group of independent and caring women who were strong community leaders. Organized in 1912 as the Altrurian Literary Club, the Woman’s Club of Indio is the oldest non-profit service club in the Coachella Valley. The foundation created many years ago was based upon the tenants of purposeful community focus and included a diverse range of community projects. Today, nothing has changed. Our members are dynamic and strong leaders capable of carrying on the legacy of shining a light on community needs, resolving those needs, and giving back to our community in meaningful ways.
We credit our longevity to our hardworking members and our sustained membership growth to the quality and character embodied in every member. We foster a club culture of personal growth, empowerment and teamwork, all while giving of ourselves to our communities. To get an idea of how busy we are, please take a minute to enjoy reading one of our recent newsletters.
