Who We Are & What We Do

A Club Committed to Service and Improving Our Community!

Who We Are

One Membership. Endless Possibilities.

Join the GFWC Woman’s Club of Indio and become part of a powerful network of women creating positive change locally, statewide, nationally, and globally. Through the De Anza District (District), California Federation of Women's Clubs (CFWC), and the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC), you'll discover opportunities to lead, serve, learn, connect, and make an impact that reaches far beyond our community.

  • The Woman’s Club of Indio is a member of the De Anza District, part of Area D within the California Federation of Women’s Clubs. The district connects local clubs to collaborate on service projects, share ideas and resources, develop leadership, and strengthen community impact while supporting the mission of CFWC and GFWC.

  • The California Federation of Women’s Clubs (CFWC), a proud affiliate of GFWC, unites women across California through community service, leadership, and personal growth. Through local clubs statewide, members make a meaningful impact while building skills, friendships, and opportunities to serve.

To better support and connect its members, CFWC is organized into four geographic areas (Areas A, B, C & D), each led by an Area Vice President.

    • Area A (Northern) – 6 Districts, 66 Clubs

    • Area B (Central) – 5 Districts, 46 Clubs

    • Area C (Los Angeles and Eastern) – 4 Districts, 57 Clubs

    • Area D (Southern) – 6 Districts, 56 Clubs (WCI is in this district)

  • The General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) is a global network of women dedicated to community service and positive change. With more than 100,000 members in clubs across the United States and around the world, GFWC empowers women to strengthen their communities through volunteerism, leadership, and philanthropy.

One of the world’s largest and oldest nonpartisan, nondenominational women’s service organizations, GFWC members support causes ranging from education and the arts to environmental stewardship, health and wellness, civic engagement, and international understanding. Together, members contribute more than $40 million and over eight million volunteer hours each year in support of communities worldwide.

Mission Statement, Bylaws & Standing Rules

Our mission is to enhance our community through active, committed and civic-minded participation.

What We Do

Community Service: We Don't Just Support Causes—We Amplify Them.

Through volunteerism, fundraising, and charitable giving, we partner with nonprofit organizations across the Coachella Valley to expand their reach and deepen their impact. Together, we're creating stronger communities and changing lives for the better.

Our work is focused on five key areas: Arts & Culture, Civic Engagement & Community Involvement, Education & Libraries, Environment, and Health & Wellness. This allows us to make a meaningful difference where it matters most. By investing our time, talents, and resources, we help local organizations thrive and strengthen the communities they serve.
